stork-copyParker Arts Presents…….

The Orchestra’s spring season finale spotlights the ensemble in a program displaying the art and heart of Baroque. The core string ensemble is joined by horns, oboes, flutes, and bassoon for two diversely innovative masterworks: J.S. Bach’s celebrated First Brandenburg with its daring combination of instruments, and Rebel’s rarely performed Les Elemens, an extraordinary symphony imagining the creation of the world.

Parker Symphony Orchestra: In Nature’s Realm at the PACE Theater

At last spring is in the air and the Parker Symphony invites you to an evening of orchestral music dedicated to the light and beauty of that happy season. What would flowers be without bees? Vaughn-Williams’ “Overture to the Wasps” portrays the miniature aerial acrobatics of wasps with vivid accuracy. Springtime in Scotland might be fun, so you'll enjoy Mendelssohn's “Fingel's Cave Overture." The absolute glory of a lark rising on a warm spring breeze is the lilting “The Lark Ascending” again by Vaughn-Williams with our featured soloist and concert mistress, Nadya Hill. Always an audience favorite, Aaron Copland’s quintessential “Appalachian Spring” takes you from a newborn spring morning to a rousing square dance and beyond. This delightful selection will make you yearn for a trip through those eastern mountains and the innocent beauty of yesteryear. Please join the PSO for a celebration of the beauty of spring.
